"Finding library stuff felt weirdly harder than it should’ve"
I was just trying to find a few journals and somehow it turned into a whole scavenger hunt. The search felt clunky, a bunch of links were broken, and I kept wondering if the system was secretly designed to make you give up and go ask a librarian in person. Maybe it’s not that deep, but it definitely felt like the library website was hiding the good stuff from me.

"Not trying to be dramatic, but I wasn’t impressed"
I know some people have a great time at LSU Online, so I’m not saying everyone will feel this way, but my experience has been frustrating. Getting help when I needed it felt way harder than it should’ve, and a lot of my classes were really hit or miss. Maybe I expected too much, but for what it costs, I thought the support would be better. I’m not just complaining to complain, I genuinely wanted to like it here. I just wouldn’t really recommend it based on how things went for me.

"Athletics visit was a mess"
My visit to Athletics was a mess. Everything felt unorganized, the lines were way too long, and the staff seemed annoyed any time someone needed help. I kept thinking it would get better if I just stuck it out, but I ended up feeling stupid for trusting them to have things handled. Getting basic help was harder than it should’ve been, and for me, it just wasn’t worth the hassle.

"Frustrating trying to find the classes I needed"
The lsu site is fine when you’re just looking for basic info, but trying to figure out course availability put me in such a bad mood. A bunch of the classes I needed were either already full or didn’t have clear times posted until later, which made planning my semester way more stressful than it needed to be. I kept having to check back again and again, and it got old fast. It’s not the worst thing ever, but it was definitely annoying.

"Confusing emails and mixed info"
Dealing with the communication from LSU Online was frustrating. I kept getting emails that didn’t really explain what I was supposed to do next, and then some of the website pages had different info than what the emails said. I had to click around way too much just to figure out basic stuff. It kind of feels like they assume you already know where everything is, which isn’t helpful at all when you’re just trying to get answers quickly.

"Dorms could use some updating"
I’m not expecting anything fancy, but by my standards the dorm rooms felt worn down. They were usable, but the space could definitely use some maintenance and a refresh.

"Admissions felt kind of all over the place"
I applied to LSU and the admissions process was frustrating. It just felt slow, and I never really knew what was going on half the time. I’d send an email and wait a while to hear back, then when I did get a response it sometimes didn’t match what someone else had told me before. Maybe it was just a busy time or something, but still, it made everything more confusing than it needed to be. I was excited about applying, but yeah, not the best first impression.

"LSU alumni network felt underwhelming"
I expected more from the LSU Online alumni network after graduating. It felt inactive, and I had a hard time finding contacts that were actually useful. A lot of the events I saw or attended didn’t really lead anywhere either. It’s frustrating because this feels totally preventable with better organization and more effort to keep alumni connected. Overall, I just didn’t feel very supported once I left campus

"Online classes were frustrating and poorly handled"
The setup was fine, but the lectures were a mess at times. Some of them were confusing, dragged on way too slowly, and it felt like the instructors or whoever planned the course didn’t really care about making things clear. I expected better

"I tried reaching out for help with my..."
I tried reaching out for help with my resume and job search, but the whole so-called career services thing was underwhelming. Replies took forever, and when I finally got advice, it felt like some generic copy-paste stuff anyone could’ve found online. i left more confused than when I started

"Most of my classes felt huge and..."
Most of my classes felt huge and kind of impersonal. It was hard to ask questions, and, uh, it seemed like the professors barely even noticed you were there. Definitely not what I expected from LSU.

"I came into lsu thinking it would..."
I came into lsu thinking it would feel like a good deal, but the tuition and random fees start piling up way faster than I expected. Some of my classes have been solid and I’ve had a couple professors I really liked, but then other classes are packed or feel kind of thrown together, which makes it hard not to wonder where all the money is going.

Financial aid did help some, but not enough to make it feel affordable. I know every school has issues, but for what students are paying, stuff like advising, parking, and the online systems should work better than they do. lsu isn’t a bad school, and I’m not saying nobody should go here, but the cost makes it hard for me to recommend without a lot of hesitation.

"Honestly, the faculty was kind of a letdown"
I went in expecting the professors to be a little more confident, I guess. But a few of them seemed unsure of things, or like they were figuring it out as they went. Not all of them, but enough that it stood out. And when I had questions, getting a clear answer wasn’t always easy. It just left me feeling a bit disappointed overall.

"Financial aid has been really frustrating"
Dealing with financial aid has been such a headache. I’ve sent emails and waited forever for a response, and when I try calling, I just get passed around without any clear answers. The most frustrating part is that everyone seems to tell me something different, so I never really know what’s going on. It’s stressful enough with tuition deadlines coming up, but the lack of clear communication makes it so much worse.

"Had a Hard Time Finding Research Opportunities"
I felt like there wasn’t much support when it came to finding undergrad research opportunities. I expected there to be more guidance or places to look, but it was kind of hard to figure out on my own. Did anyone else have the same issue?

"Didn’t always feel safe on campus"
The campus itself is nice, but I can’t say I didn’t feel a little uneasy sometimes, especially at night. Safety felt kind of hit or miss, and there were times when alerts came later than they should’ve. A few areas also didn’t seem like they were watched all that well

"lsu definitely has its fun moments, and I..."
lsu definitely has its fun moments, and I met some really friendly people, but day-to-day campus life felt more frustrating than I expected. Parking was always a hassle, some of the dorms really seemed like they needed attention, and campus events were hit or miss. What bothered me most was that whenever something was inconvenient or poorly organized, it kind of felt like they made it my problem to figure out instead of actually making things easier for students. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t live up to the experience I thought I was going to have.

"Place felt neglected"
The facilities felt really run down. The buildings looked old, the bathrooms weren’t in great shape, and parking was a hassle. It kind of gave me the impression they’re trying to get by without putting much money back into the place.

"Didn’t really feel like I belonged"
I expected more from lsu when it comes to diversity and inclusion. A lot of it felt like posters, mass emails, and those automated messages that make it seem like someone cares, when really it just feels like a system checking a box. There were definitely some people who seemed to be trying, and I appreciate that, but overall I didn’t feel very welcomed or supported.

"student orgs are okay but kinda hit or miss"
lsu definitely has a ton of student orgs, so finding something that sounds fun or fits your interests isn’t too hard. some groups are really active and friendly, and joining one early on helped me meet people and feel a little more settled on campus.
that said, it can be hit or miss. a few org pages on the lsu site seemed outdated, and I ran into meeting times or contact info that were wrong or just missing. overall, it’s worth checking out, but you might have to do some extra digging...
